Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Marketing.

As CIO, I am dedicated to creating superior outcomes for Thruline, employees, and to the students and partners we serve. I believe in accomplishing this through enabling game-changing business opportunities, and by solving big problems using technology.

It has been a terrific ride over the past 10 years as part of a dynamic team to create differentiated solutions for marketing and online program management. Like every Thruline employee, I am thrilled to be part of the company’s new chapter and inspired by our vision to connect students to rewarding careers through the right education and training. I look forward to playing my role in creating a bright future for the students and clients we serve.

What does Thruline mean to you?
Unwavering commitment to the cause of education. This is the single common denominator when we were PlattForm, Keypath and now as Thruline.

What do you like best about Thruline?
There are many things but ultimately it is about our purpose, and the lively, fast-paced and fun work environment made possible by all my coworkers. That’s why I am a proud employee since 2008.

What is it about higher education marketing that excites you?
As someone who is part of a company that is solely focused on higher education, I am excited about the opportunity to play a small role in making a difference in people’s lives, just as education made a huge difference in my own life. I am also excited about how technology continues to radically redefine how marketing can be done, and how education is delivered, consumed, and personalized, and the new career opportunities it creates. It is great opportunity to be with a company that connects students, schools and careers.

How do you believe education changes lives?
While material success is certainly an aspect of it, the most important thing is the joy from leading a fulfilling life by equipping someone to do what they really want to do. As a Thruline employee, you get a chance every day to help people take the next step towards this goal. That’s what brings me to work every day.

What’s the most fun you have had at work?
Difficult to pick but a couple that stands out are watching my previous human resources officer’s (a true Kansan) jaw drop when I told him that I have never had steak in my life, and when I had to play a rapper on the spot as part of a team building event. No one ever expected to see a “Jay” in Jai so I wasn’t the only one who had the fun!

What do you love about Kansas City?
It is very welcoming place that offers something unique to everyone.

What do you do in your downtime?
I watch cricket and read inspirational books on self-development.

Fun Facts

  • What’s your favorite book?
  • Cat or dog?
Both and more. Why does it have to be an “or”?
  • Ice cream or potato chips?
Now you know my weakness – ice cream. I am actually lactose intolerant but ice cream is something that I love having and I don’t mind facing the consequences 🙂
  • Star Wars or Star Trek?
Asking this to the wrong guy, who hasn’t followed either (believe it or not). My kids love Star Wars though. Don’t ask me how much I have spent buying Star Wars Legos.
  • Real Housewives or Game of Thrones?
  • What’s your favorite quote?
“You must be the change that you want to see in the world.”
