The Future of Digital Recruitment Marketing

Top takeaways and advice from the AMA Conference

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting a panel on the future of digital marketing at the AMA Symposium for the Marketing for Higher Education in Las Vegas. We were able to spend two hours with team members from Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Pandora and Kenshoo and get their take on everything from Ai to audience targeting and the changing behaviors of Gen Z. A lot of great information was discussed, and we wanted to recap some takeaways from the one piece of advice each panelist shared.

  • Personalization is key – make sure you are communicating with your targets one on one.
  • Political advertising is going to be crazy in 2020, make sure you have a plan. And a plan B. For more on how to prep your advertising campaigns for the election year and make the most of spending during increased competition check out our recent blog post.
  • Content and storytelling are critical. Make sure you are creating authentic experiences your audience will share themselves.
  • Know your site speed. You will lose prospects if it takes longer than 3 seconds for your site to load.
  • Keep the consumer, your prospective student, at the heart of your marketing and decision making.
  • Stay abreast of where and how your current students are using new media platforms, like Twitch, TikTok, Mixer, etc. To familiarize yourself with some of the new platforms, check out our recent blog post “New Social Media Platforms Taking Gen Z by Storm”.
  • Don’t lose sight of the big picture, there is so much data and it is easy to get lost in the weeds.

Make sure to keep these tips top of mind as you plan for 2020 and stay tuned as we share additional recaps of the questions answered on our blog soon. Subscribe to our blog to be notified!
